Description of the Workshop
At the workshop you will be given a thorough introduction to a number of essential new functions in Trados Studio. The workshop is designed to give freelance translators and linguists the best possible foundation for starting to use Trados Studio.

Trados Studio 2009
 Overview of Trados Studio
 Step-by-step presentation of how the program works
 Setting up your own TM
 Converting translation memories (TMs) from version 2007 to 2009
 Possibilities and limitations in interaction between the 2007 and 2009 versions of Trados
 Using a TM in conjunction with MultiTerm and autosuggest dictionaries
 Optimising the work process with Trados Studio

MultiTerm 2009 – a short introduction
 Demonstration of how MultiTerm works with Trados Studio
 Review of the advantages and how they work

The workshop is organised as a combination of theory and practice, with emphasis on hands-on exercises at the computers.

Prerequisites
This workshop is for users who are familiar with Windows and Translator’s Workbench 2006-7. Knowledge of Trados Studio 2009 is not required, since the workshop is specifically designed as an introduction to Trados Studio for users who have not previously worked with the newest version of Trados.

Workshop with follow-up
After the workshop has been completed, the new skills and knowledge must be applied fast and effectively in the daily work routine. All participants are therefore given:

 Three months’ e-mail support on all questions in connection with their use of the tools that were demonstrated at the workshop.
 Course material and printed versions of the presentations used with step-by-step instructions for the exercises used at the workshop.

The instructor
Technical project manager Peter Steffensen, cand.ling.merc. in English, State Authorised Translator and Interpreter. Peter has been a Trados instructor for more than ten years, and worked as a language-technological consultant for a number of companies in addition to working as a freelance translator specialising in medical translation and text revision.

Price
The workshop costs DKK 1,800 excluding VAT per participant with a minimum of six participants.
