A person pretending to be looking for a translator for a large project (in this case Eng - JPN will send a certified check for your quote but the check will be in excess of the amount you quote and the check will be fake!

...why on heaven's sake this person doesn't try to contact me, looking so eager for any job, no matter whether it is a scam or fraud? I even do dog walking in parks, where other colleagues meet the job opportunities of their life time! Please, will someone empower me where and how to get all those extraordinary prepaid jobs paid in advance by cheque I need so urgently? Thanks.

Being Paid by Check Sep 22, 2024

I did not request to be paid by check. I requested payment via PayPal or Zelle. The scammer gave me a sob story about having had difficulty in the past with “apps”. She demanded I accept payment in the form of certified check.

She did have a company name: Gap Tool, Inc.

Yes, I reported this to law enforcement.
