Yes, and she was great. Mar 26

Apart from my wife, whom I initially met online, before she got in touch with me by phone and email, I was also put in touch with an English-to-German provider by an Australian agency regarding marketing or human resources materials, and she did a great job. Can't remember anymore whether she proofread my translations or I checked hers. Very good contact, excellent work and communication.

Yes Mar 26

I’ve been working for several years now with a Portuguese translator whom I met online here on Proz. We usually edit/proofread each other’s work, and I must say I’ve learnt a great deal from her. I hope the feeling is mutual…

Yes, she is a star. Mar 27

Yes, one decade ago. I met that fantastic interpreter online and then in the real life. She speaks 3 language and a bit of Galician.

Yes, more than one Mar 27

I cannot remember how I met some of the colleagues I have collaborated with, but it always went well. I met several in person at powwows, but the important negotiations were online.

I collaborated very happily on a book with at least one colleague whom I have never met in person. She is a Danish legal expert, and we were translating a legal textbook into English. I collaborated very happily on a book with at least one colleague whom I have never met in person. She is a Danish legal expert, and we were translating a legal textbook into English. To meet the deadline, we translated roughly half each, then proofread each other's work and conferred for consistency. She had the last say on subject matter and terminology and I checked the language.

I prefer short projects which I can complete alone, but for longer projects a partner is an enormous help to keep going and finish before I get too bored!

Everything is online these days Mar 31

Most of the translators I contracted work out to were people who I'd cooperated with in teams for a particular client. Is that meeting online? I'm not sure if I ever hired anyone I'd met IRL, although I used to work on location at agencies and attended ProZ conferences around twenty years ago (under a different name).

No Apr 3

but before the Web was even a yet-to-materialise concept, I worked few times together with people who are experts in their field (not translators) - made a huge difference.
