Spoken, to any degree? A whole bunch, I suppose, though this is hardly 1900, when the country's cities buzzed with the sounds of many languages, as many immigrants had still not learned English, or kept speaking their native languages with their family members and countrymen.

The speaking of other languages, despite the enormity of the country, is surprisingly limited.

Practically speaking, the only important languages in the US are English and Spanish.

Why is this even a poll? In my opinion, this space should be used for exchanging experiences and perspectives with other colleagues. I don't want to sound bitter (however I'm really bitter these days...), but this poll makes no sense at all.
