lng. files - software translations

I am translating right now a softwareprogram, had to download the client\'s software in order to translate into the software. The file to be translated is an lng - file. Does anyone know how I can convert this file so that I can count the source words? Also the client couldn\'t get me any information.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Open them directly in Word. I just opened one and it worked.

If not, transform them into .pdf files (with Acrobat) and them copy paste to Word.
