I, like most translators I know, often play around with words and expressions in different languages.
Apart from being our source of income, words and expressions are a huge source of enjoyment too. Ask yourself the following questions:
Do you ever answer KudoZ questions as a means of entertainment, as well as for helping fellow translators?
Do you ever find the KudoZ environment in your language pairs too serious?

Do you ever answer KudoZ questions as a means of entertainment, as well as for helping fellow translators?
Do you ever find the KudoZ environment in your language pairs too serious?
Do funny double-entendres ever cross your mind when reading a KudoZ question?
Are you ever tempted to enter a 'joke answer', even though you refrain from doing so?
If you've answered 'Yes' to some of these questions, would you welcome a new 'Kudoz for fun' feature on the site, where askers could post ambiguous terms and respondents 'compete' for the most creative or funniest answer?

Helen, thanks for your positive response. I fully understand that, if anything, it would be a feature to be included precisely in that area of the site and in a format (e.g. name, colour schemes) that clearly set it apart from regular Kudoz.
My suggestion is merely a rough idea and something that should be carefully thought out.

Let me honest with you. i did not use Kudoz till now. I know its very good tool but somehow i could not use it.

I think you would have to make access as tricky as possible, because there's always going to be someone who is going to take it seriously. Especially if they don't speak the languages used very well. And I wonder how long it would take before the first argument broke out...

Does that smiley at the end of your post mean to indicate that you're trying to be nice, because that's not the way you're coming across at all? You're actually coming over as extremely abrasive and intimidating. I cannot for the life of me imagine why you would want to do that when we're completely unacquainted, simply because you disagree with my idea.

Indeed a number of times in the past I have posted ridiculous or funny answers just because I felt inspired to do so by the question or by other answers.
In doing so, my goals were to A) check whether other people share my sense of humour (sometimes they don't) and B) create a ridiculous answer so that it was more apparent that other answers were plain ridiculous too, and C) have fun myself!

Or shall I say: Dr. Freud II.? Since your analysis of my post is longer than my post itself.
So:
1.) I am neither abrasive, nor intimidating. As a matter of fact I find your comment highly personal and a bit off the wall.
2.) A smiley is a smiley.
3.) I do not agree with your idea because:
- It is not very nice to mess with askers and to provide phony answers on purpose for personal amusement.
- The idea is quite old - please see Kamelopedia.com, the Kamelionary, or Stupededia where you can find the most hilarious explanations of technical terms and such.
- The idea sounds like fun - just don't create any connection to KudoZ. Too many professionals on this website have been working for too long to keep up a professional level.
(In case this little emoticon requires extra translation: It's a smiley. No paranoia required.)
