I am a 45 years old and living in Britain, Surrey. I am French but have been living in the UK for 20 years. I am very proficient in both English and French, my mother tongue.
I can work effectively as a translator from French to English and English to French. I have just completed a Prep Course for the Dip Trans, French to English, specialisation in Social Sciences and Literature (Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (http://www.iol.org.uk/qualifications/exams_diptrans.asp). I sat the exam in January and await results for May 2009.
My main background is computing as I have been a freelance computer designer and builder in this country for 10 years. I stopped working to have children.
My best fields in translation terms are computing, literature and art. I write poetry, lately in English. I won Third Prize at the annual Elmbridge Literature Competition 2008 with my short story "The Step-Sisters".
