Franco-American Translator

Born to a Franco-American family of scientists and translators, I was raised and educated in both French and English in the United States, France, Switzerland and Québec. This contact with various cultures and languages, as well as my early apprenticeship in the translator's trade, has forged me into a rigorous and exacting artisan of the French and English languages.

My subsequent higher education in Political Science, History and Philosophy opened me to new methods of critical analysis and interpretation, which have been instrumental in honing my translating craft, a fact which has led me to successfully pursue a M.A. in Translation (EMT).

The fields I am personally most interested in are the humanities and social sciences, politics, history, culture, and leisure. I have also developed a keen enthusiasm for the translation of technical documentation of all kinds, but particularly in the fields of heavy industry, energy, IT, construction and production, as well as legal and medical translation more generally.

With over 14 years of experience in both translation and interpretation, 10 years of which have been as a full-time professional, I have cultivated the capacity to work quickly and diligently in the production of very high quality translations.

My intimate knowledge of both French and English, as well as many of these languages' dialects and cultures, enables me to seamlessly navigate between codes and meanings. As a result, my translations are ever faithful to the original tone and intent, while providing a comprehensible and enjoyably legible result in the target language.

As well as having obtained a M.Sc. in Political Science from the Université de Montréal in 2014, I have confirmed my experience and qualification as an inveterate translator by obtaining a M.A. in Translation from the Université de Bretagne Occidentale in Brest, France (part of the European Masters in Translation program).
