Spanish to English: "Disain" webpage General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Translation - English Corten steel has a high content in copper, chromium and nickel. These alloys provide with special characteristics the surface layer of rust that develops on non-stainless steel.
Thus, the coating exposed to atmospheric normal conditions is particularly dense, highly adherent, stable and regenerative. If the oxide surface layer results slightly damaged, this regenerates and ends up homogenizing itself, and as a result, corrosion of the steel is prevented by the oxide self-healing system. Corten steel is at the vanguard of design because of its unique appearance and resistance to outdoor conditions. It is made of a plain, but richly colored material ranging from orange to dark brown, as well as chromatically, and a rich texture look. These surprising finishes might radiate modernism or evoke the past depending on where and how we use them.
Stainless steel is an iron alloy with a minimum of 10% chromium content by mass. It is a steel of high purity, resistant to corrosion and the passage of time. Precisely, this resistance to corrosion, along with its hygienic and aesthetic properties is what makes stainless steel an outstanding visual material capable of satisfying an ample demand. It is strong, long lasting, versatile and totally recyclable.
We are constantly innovating, looking out for the latest trends or for something different. Steel is currently booming and socially progressing. This is because it transmits harmony, character and modern thinking. The striking finishes have caused a vertiginous increase in its use for decorative purposes in architecture, given that nowadays more attention is paid to functional urban equipment and aesthetics values. Consequently, we encourage the use of stainless steel for its state-of-the-art decorating capabilities.
The emergence of “Disain” comes during the search process for new materials. Our objective is to take a step further using these upcoming resources by applying them to our own designs. In the pursuit to mold curves and smooth angles that bear much difficulty in pieces made of steel, line “d” materializes. It is based on bed models “double o” of “dienei” although, these are now being built with fiberglass. During the development of this line, we have created additional pieces using this same material which offers infinite possibilities. It is light, fireproof, moldable and very resistant. Our formula made of agglomerate fiberglass fragments with resins, in addition to carbon fiber finishes, metal effects and other tonalities, yet again turn our visually impressive designs into unique pieces. All lines comprised within “Disain” have numbered serials and are build-to-order models.
