Hello,
I am starting my career as a translator and in order to gain experience I've been working for a few non-profit organizations as a volunteer. Is that OK to ask them for feedback for my profile in Proz.com or should it be paying clients only?
Thanks in advance!
Alejandra.

It is of course OK to ask them for feedback. The feedback will reflect your experience and your talent whether it is from a paying client or from a non-profit organization.

A reference is a reference Feb 17, 2014

It's absolutely OK to ask for their feedback. Volunteer work is a noble initiative and it only adds to your CV. If the company identifies itself as a company, and if it's a well-konwn company, so much better. The reference comments will likely not mention your work was volunteer, but it surely will mention how good it was.
