Typing Jun 26, 2008

Learning to type sounds like a damn good idea! It's time I did that too - what is the programme and where could I find it?

I thought you all typed?

There are tons of them out there, but this one has good support for country specific keyboards:

There is also a Firefox add-in but it hasn't been upgraded for the newest Firefox yet:

I have the Kinesis Classic (ergonomic keyboard) and find I can type much faster on it without the hand strain that I used to have. The main reason is the shape and the fact that the Ctrl, Alt, etc. keys used so often for shortcuts are located by the thumb - the strongest finger - rather than the pinky - the weakest finger. The company's keyboards are also programmable and come in Dvorak as well as QWERTY layouts, so the possibilities for optimizing your work are endless. Buying one of these was worth every penny, and it's still going strong after about 6 years.
