Bio:I was born and raised in France and am a native speaker of French. I currently reside in Sydney, Australia.
I hold a Master's in French-English Translation (University of Alberta, Canada) and a PhD in Audiovisual translation (University of Queensland, Australia).
...I am a NAATI-accredited English-to-French translator and
specialise in translating technical documents (mostly in the field of Information Technology) and promotional/marketing material, but also have experience in a range of areas, including climate change & environmental stewardship, HR, telecommunications, media & entertainment, and tourism.
Due to the time difference between Australia and Europe & North America, I can translate or revise documents sent late in the afternoon for the start of business in Europe/North America the next morning.
I worked for 2 years as an in-house English-to-French translator and English technical writer for EMC (a high-profile global IT company), specialising in IT & marketing translation. In the course of this experience, I became aware of the techniques and challenges of software globalization in large corporations and gained expertise at the use of SLD TRADOS and other CAT tools.
I have now resumed my work as a freelance translator and subtitler and work for a range of large corporate clients and smaller businesses.
I am used to working in a team environment and particularly enjoy collaborating on projects involving French-to-English and English-to-French translators.
