Discussion

airmailrpl Nov 17, 2020:
fly larvae = maggots = fly larvae A maggot is the larva of a fly (order Diptera); it is applied in particular to the larvae of Brachycera flies, such as houseflies, cheese flies, and blowflies,[1] rather than larvae of the Nematocera

Maggot" is not a technical term and should not be taken as such; in many standard textbooks of entomology, it does not appear in the index at all.[3][4] In many non-technical texts, the term is used for insect larvae in general.

Silvia Tratnik Nov 17, 2020:
About the screwworms and another possibility There are two types of screwworm flies: Old World (Chrysomya bezziana) and New World (Cochliomyia hominivorax). “Hominivorax,” by the way, means “man-eater.” - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/7-reasons-flesh-eating-...

These species, referred to as "screwworms", are two of the most common causes of "bicheira", but they are not the only ones.

"Bicheira" is a broader term, it refers to the infestation by fly maggots of different species. It is a synonym of myiasis. Notice it is in the plural form, "bicheiras", perhaps to indicate that the product is effective against a broad spectrum of fly maggot infestations.

Another possibility, and I may be wrong, is that it is in the text to clarify the more scientific term "miíase".

boolean? i will have to leave up to the experts, portuguese text above say flies in a wound, perhaps no term is always interchangeable, some overlap. In Idaho, Montana, South dakota, warbles resulted when heel fly stung the cows and miagrated to the back through blood veins, later coming out in the spring time
