: I did a bunch of tourism translations from Portugal that had this term, and the translation was "sidewalk cafe," not "terrace"

Amy, sidewalk cafe is fine if it's just for a cafe, however if its a restaurant, sidewalk cafe is not the correct English term, so the asker has asked for a general term for cafes and restaurant which is TERRACE

dining alfresco/seating alfresco
seating area /dining "alfresco" We use this borrowed Italian word (alfresco) - its in the Oxford dictionary and its sounds more sophisticated
Example sentence:
The restaurant offered alfresco dining

isveco
: or just outdoor dining area for a less sophisticated option:)

Thanks . Yes I suppose it depends on how you want to market it-Outdoor or open air dining and indoor salon could work
