jointer
Desempenadeira - máquina provida de um tambor com lâminas, rotativo, usada para desempenar tábuas.
Jointer: A jointer is a tool for flattening and squaring a board during the lumber preparation process. A jointer can be either a machine or a hand tool.
The machine known as a jointer consists of two flat beds separated by a rotating series of cutters, with a fence that can be set at 90 degrees. The machine comes in both benchtop and floor models. By passing the face or edge of the board across the bed and the cutters, the machine progressively removes the uneven wood until it is flat.

A thickness planer is a tool used for smoothing rough lumber or reducing the thickness of a board. With a planer every board on a project can be a perfect match. A planer will not straighten a bowed board, it would have to be run through a jointer to get one side straight first.
