Bom trabalho!
Tania Pires (asker) Feb 18, 2022:
Tania Pires (asker) Feb 18, 2022:
@Nick igreja paroquial do Espírito Santo (in Mértola)
Nick Taylor Feb 18, 2022:
@Tánia Is it possible to know the name of the church in question?
Mario Freitas Feb 18, 2022:
Estou trabalhando.

"A barrel vault is the simplest form of a vault and resembles a barrel or tunnel cut lengthwise in half. The effect is that of a structure composed of continuous semicircular or pointed sections.[3]

The earliest known examples of barrel vaults were built by the Sumerians, possibly under the ziggurat at Nippur in Babylonia,[4] which was built of fired bricks cemented with clay mortar.[5]"

Note from asker:
Thanks! I have a 'half-round dome' in my translation (abóbada is usually translated as dome). This is Medieval Portuguese architecture, by the way.
Thanks!

agree Simone Taylor : Depending on the context also dome or roof, there are different kinds of vaults.
