but the "not" already makes it negative so I feel "either/or" is correct. alternative: ...will pursue neither civil nor criminal proceedings.. . doesn't sound quite as good
agree ErichEko ⟹⭐ : The verb, IMHO, should be more *aggresive*: pursue any legal proceedings. Also, Hipyan's word choice (whether) sounds subjectively better to me than either.
