French term

Couverture de l’obligation : actifs

French to English Bus/Financial Accounting
Still having trouble with this idea of courverture de l'obligation. Help appreciated. Thanks in advance, context follows:

Selected

coverage of obligation: assets

actifs du regime= fund assets

and

Fund assets= assets held by a fund that covers the long term insurance payments or insurance contracts of "eligible" insureds

regime in your context means FUND..like an employee insurance fund or employee pension fund..that's all it means...

sorry again: long term insurance BENEFITS...regime à prestations definies= a defined BENEFITS PLAN....

so actifs du regime= can be plan assets OR fund assets...your choice..depends on the reste of the text

Jo...Cause I made it so complicated here you go:

The obligation may be covered by specific assets (\"plan [or fund] assets or by re-imbursement rights.
Plan assets [or Fund assets] = assets held in a fund to cover long term benefits or insurance contracts of \"eligible\" insureds.

Re-imbursement rights arise from insurance contracts of \"non-eligible\" insureds.

This is it,. IMO...sorry for the long windedness

French term (edited): Couverture de lobligation : actifs

coverage of obligation: active employments

I am fairly sure this refers to coverage of benefit obligations (the momst dread accounting changes in the U.S. had to do with funding reserves for future pension obligations)
