"...al final hemos concentrado el juego en el tablero cuando teníamos que haber intentado hacer algo más de jugada choco [...] y no tanto cargar el juego atrás."
Resulta claro que la estrategia mejor eran las dobles paredes cerradas (al choco, decisivas) y no lo que se puede llamar juego frontal, pelotas largas al fondo de la pista que es por lo general un juego más seguro o menos arriesgado en la pelota mano o vasca (con la raqueta se puede arriesgar más jugando desde atrás).
Entonces lo que se viene a plantear es que convenía arriesgar y apostar por el juego delantero con pelotas en doble pared muy cerrada, a la esquina o al choco, como se dice en la jerga por influencia del euskera.
Quitar contenido de las frases para resumir complica las respuestas. Ahora resulta obvio que "concentrar el juego en el tablero" no es hacer dobles paredes sino un juego más simple, con pelotazos largos al fondo de la pista, lanzando la pelota a la pared central. Borro mi respuesta. A ver si después se me ocurre algo mejor o alguien lo sabe explicar con términos especializados.
ese "cuando teníamos que haber intentado" parece dejar suponer que habrían conseguido mejor resultado siguiendo alguna estrategia pero la frase, incompleta, no queda clara.
Un párrafo o incluso mejor un extracto del audio original (supongo que no será confidencial) sería lo ideal para intentar dilucidar el mensaje con precisión.
