If this is the context your are translating, you clearly need an acronym, DPG might be inevitable :)

J'aime bien cette deuxième version qui évite d'inventer des abrévaitions médicales que nous, pauvres traducteurs......, n'avons aucune autorité pour se le permettre, surtout n'étant pas médecin(s) :)
Mais cette deuxième proposition me semble à exclure pour la simple raison qu'elle serait incompatible avec OPP.

This has nothing to do with the debate about "inventing" abbreviations because I am sure they can be "invented" based on the context, but the source might also be read as "overall daily score of pelvic pain", in which case I would suggest "score global quotidien de douleur pelvienne" and simply omit the acronym (because in this case, it would be useless).
