Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Boris Shapiro

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Boris Shapiro Aug 13, 2022:
@Erzsébet Sadly, I found the blacklist to be one of the most useful features of Kudoz. The literally thousands of questions some of the askers have accumulated strongly indicate that it (what does 'it' here mean, anyone?) is the proper place for them. What remains is the question why the administrators have not tagged this supposedly helpful bit of bilingual data as 'Non-PRO'.

@Turdimurod "This might not be as too serious as you might think"

Do not make a fool of yourself. Repost the whole thing otherwise it is absolutely unprofessional - writing with such banal mistakes. If you think it is enough to seem to be professional - it is not. Two clicks, dear colleague. Copy, delete the answer and repost. Keep your standards. Keep the KudoZ spirit.

when 'it' refers to a broader context THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LEWISTON, IDAHO, met in a Regular
meeting on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Lewiston City Library, 411 D Street.
Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
---
Councilor Miller stated she was impressed by the Valley Boys and Girls
Club presentation and feels there is a lack of understanding as to what is
available to youth in the community. If kids are looking for things to do, the
Boys and Girls Club have great programs and camps available. There are a lot
of events taking place, so it is important to keep talking about them. As long
as the message continues, people will know about everything that’s offered.
Lewiston Transit is offering kids free rides again this summer and the Library
offers book clubs and activities for the youth weekly. She said she appreciates
everyone keeping it a part of the conversation
and feels that it will help to keep
the youth in the community involved, which will feed into our work force in
the future.

Quality of the Q/As is a core value of KudoZ To all colleagues:
Some 15+ years ago KudoZ was a scene where you got real help with explanations; it was a venue to exchange our views and knowledge.
I think there are some grammar questions that should not be asked if you consider yourself a professional translator.

Во фразе "Keeping it part of the conversation": it означает "commitment "?
What a question is that?

The word it shall refer to a noun in the previous sentence. For example:
Would you like some more potatoes?
No, I don't like it.

I am not specialised in English but the Faculty of Philology of the Voronezh State University and later in Riga, docent Fomina Tamara Kirillovna (may God gives her peace) taught me (us) the most important thing: you shall be always motivated and never tired to search for answers. You learn a lot from your own mistakes. Learn to embrace your own challenges.

In order to be capable of explaining the role of the word 'it' in a sentence, I simply searched on the internet.

The article has a mark "Elementary level". So - no excuse - this is an elementary level question.

Where are our core values left?

Да, it означает "commitment ".

Не просто мимоходом в разговорах упоминают, а снова и снова заводят речь об этом "комитменте", ведут непрерывный диалог о нем.

neutral Erzsébet Czopyk : снова заводят речь об этом "комитменте"? Is that a translation? The only answewr to a questions is your "Да, it означает "commitment ", but you even did not make any attempt to finish...

disagree Erzsébet Czopyk : No example, no explanation, just an asterisk. «Думаю, что it относится ко всему предыдущему предложению». On what basis? Could you provide a reasoning and a translation?

disagree Erzsébet Czopyk : в повестке дня? This is not a general meeting but a Code of Ethics.

мне кажется, вы правы, речь о commitment, но может не стоит его переводить буквально
