Marcelo González Dec 23, 2021:
Center of Attention - Introduction "Do you ever find yourself seeking control of social situations and wanting to be the center of attention? If you feel that this is a part of your personality that is taking away from a balanced self you can learn how to take control of this desire and turn it into something that is more contributive toward relationships.

Desiring to be the center of attention is also known as a Histrionic personality disorder. This consists of attention seeking behavior and extreme emotional reactions. Those who have this disorder often want to be the center of attention regardless of their environment. They might feel uncomfortable if they aren't getting all of the responses that they want in a social situation. Behavior can range anywhere from lively to rebellious or dramatic. The person affected might have a hard time being in an environment when the attention isn't focused exclusively on them. People who have this disorder are thought to be shallow, selfish and more prone to engaging in provocative behavior to gain attention."

That's what "protagonismo" usually means; however, I think Liz's answer is probably correct. I have decided to agree with it.
