In this case, I might be inclined to contrast what one sees "above the radar" (Hellfeld) with all that is "under the radar" (Dunkelfeld).

: Good idea for a more colloquial version, although I'd prefer "on the radar" for the "Hellfeld". / "Aber immerhin, das was man weiß im Hellfeld." - "But that's at least what we (can) see on the radar."
