The first part of the sentence could be: "I am / the author is an affable bloke popular with children...” I've translated “叔叔” as “bloke”, but if you want to translate it as “uncle” then make sure to retain the quotation marks, and add a section somewhere in the document explaining to English-speaking readers that “uncle” in Chinese can be a term used by children for young adult men.
