I see "DRU: nicht untersucht" quite often in documents about male patients if the rectal examination was not conducted because the patient was admitted for something completely unrelated to the prostate. I think they just left away the D [digitale] this time.

Doctors use the digital rectal exam (DRE) as a relatively simple test to check the prostate.

rektale Untersuchung? "rektale Untersuchung: nicht untersucht" ist zwar stilistisch nicht so toll, könnte aber durchaus sein.

It is part of the general physical examination on admission to hospital, with standard items such as Head/Neck, Lungs, Abdomen etc.
