Context While I think that Cyril's and Tony's suggestions are possible, you really should provide better context to be sure of getting the right answer. Another possible interpretation of your very ambiguous "Scoot down/up on a hospital bed" could be scooting down the corridor, in which case "to scoot" would mean moving quickly down the corridor.

Thank you for your comment. You explained all the issues with the synonymous terms. This is a great point you raised. Indeed, I recommend using "se décaler", which is unambiguous. I mentioned the other options after reading Francesca's answer, and trying to understand why Reverso Context would include these. I think they are possible, but only in certain contexts, and they are ambiguous without knowing the context.
Remonter dans le lit d'hôpital is an example of incomplete interchange (only 'up' was retained in the French translation). S'allonger is more subtle. It is normally understood as lie down, but in this context, it will be understood as shifting/scooting/crawling down. The patient is already lying down on the bed, and a French nurse says: "Allongez-vous (plus) en bas du lit". The patient would have to do all the shifting/crawling/scooting to scoot down the bed. In this case, the French doesn't explain how to get to it, this is another case of incomplete translation. And I don't recommend it as the preferred answer.
