Hi everybody,

I am translating a marketing magazine from the field of logistics.

This is a sub-heading to a headline that says that the logistics company is doing ever so well these days.

Eigentümer means the actual owners of the logistics company.

Target, option #1:
***This is how satisfied*** the owners are with the situation and ***how their investment is doing**

Any suggestions for improvement are very welcome and much appreciated. In any case, I would probably need it shortened.

Eli Com We don't have enough context, but I'm guessing that "so zufrieden" means this is followed by quotes from satisfied customers. Your suggestion, "This is how happy" might work well.

@ Sebastian I would also consider "content", or "happy" as Ellis suggested, even this a litter too euphemistic. But the same is also valid for "satisfied". I think, entrepreneurs are never satisfied. They want always more

Passende Überschrift finden Dieses „so zufrieden sind“ bzw. „how satisfied/happy are“ finde ich sowohl im Deutschen als auch im Englischen äußerst ungelenk.

Mein Vorschlag: Finde heraus, wie zufrieden die Eigentümer sind (und was sonst so im Artikel steht), und greife das in der Unterüberschrift auf – also etwas in der Richtung „Eigentümer sind [mit ...] zufrieden“ (oder auch etwas ganz anderes, falls sich der Inhalt des Artikels anders noch besser auf den Punkt bringen lässt).

my 2 cents .. I am actually more of a copywriter, as I spent my previous life in top ad agencies. However,t it's hard to say what would fit with the tone and substance of the rest of the magazine. Agree that satisfied is a bit too "milquetoast"... I see that very often as part of my editing assignments. Given the subject, I would say delighted seems to me to be somewhat over the top.

In marketing language and research, the go-to term is 'happy'. Especially American English.

My suggestion: This is how happy the owners are with the situation and with how their investments are thriving (or doing, as per your suggestion).

You could also turn it around...
The owners **** are this happy with....

@Sebastien The sentence I mentioned was intended to be purely indicative. I have not seen the whole text and would NEVER offer answers blind. You are being too literal minded. As to your 'fork structure", it is so typically German. But you are right in saying this is a copywriting job and one that cannot and should not be seen as a translation job

Regarding "An investment worth its weight in gold" Hi Polyglot, and addressing any future contributors, I think a point to consider might be that there is a "fork" structure in the German grammar where one governing phrase controls two specifications and I am not completely sure I want to or may lose that sort of structure. Any ideas on how to make that structure work with "An investment worth its weight in gold"? But then, maybe I am not copywriting-oriented enough for this magazine and the issue here is that I am hence pursuing an approach that might feel slightly off to some.

As a translation, I'd go for option 1 (although maybe something a little stronger than satisfied? Delighted, maybe?)
As for shortening it, how about 'How satisfied/delighted the owners are and how their investment is doing.' I don't think 'with the situation' is really needed.

comment as before you rewrite headings and sub-headings and you aim for a more succinct version in English.
You could even try something like : an investment worth its weight in gold! (but don't because it may be irrelevant in context). This is just a pointer
