tava na copa

Verbatims
Hi everyone,
I am hoping for a little help with a few terms I am struggling with. I have posted them in separate questions.
I am translating the verbatims from a market research survey regarding an advert for a beer brand. The translation is from Brazilian Portuguese into UK English.
The question asked was “Please describe the ad you just saw, as if you were talking to a friend."
The response is "e uma cerveja melhor que as outras que tava na copa". I'm not sure whether "copa" here would refer to "cup", perhaps the "world cup"? Or whether it could be something else.
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide.
Many thanks!
Kerryann

they had at/during the World Cup
Here Copa means the World Cup, I believe. If they meant beer in a glass, they'd have used copo.

: Copa também pode ser dining room, mas neste caso dever tratar-se do Mundial.

2. "copa" »» "(world) cup": http://www.infopedia.pt/dicionarios/portugues-ingles/copa
3. "que tava na copa"="que estava na copa" »» "that was at the (world) cup"/"they had at the world cup"(Jack's suggestion)
