Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Pension fund
French term or phrase: aussi longtemps que celles-ci ne sont pas exigibles
This is one of the clauses of a company's pension fund (Switzerland; Fondation de Prevoyance Professionnelle):

Le droit aux prestations ne peut être ni cédé ni mis en gage aussi longtemps que celles-ci ne sont pas exigibles, sous réserve des mesures d'encouragement à la propriété du logement.

So: a benefits entitlement cannot be transferred/pledged for as long as.... and that's where I come up short!

It would make sense that once the employee is receiving the benefits, he cannot pledge his entitlement to them. It would also make sense if an employee cannot pledge his entitlement to benefits until that entitlement actually takes effect (i.e. he has an entitlement to disability benefits, but until he is actually disabled, that entitlement hasn't taken effect).

Grammatically, the sentence is confusing me and I would appreciate some assistance.

Many thanks.

until (pension) entitlement is reached
Explanation:
I think this makes it clearer, although it does of course say due or become payable.

Thank you. I avoided the use of "vested", simply because there is potential for confusion with other parts of the translation.

"Le droit aux prestations ne peut être ni cédé ni mis en gage aussi longtemps que celles-ci ne sont pas exigibles, sous réserve des mesures d'encouragement à la propriété du logement.

"The right (to collect/perceive benefits from this pension scheme) can not be transferred nor mortgaged/used as collateral until they [=the benefits] become due, ..."

IOW you can dispose of "these right to payments" (give them away, use them as collateral ...) ONLY when they become effectively due, i.e. when they are actual rights, and not before that when they are still only future/potential rights to pension payments.

neutral  Germaine: I understand: until they become payable. "exigibles" = the payer has reach the age/the time when he/she is allowed to receive the pension.

as long as [it] is not yet vested

Explanation:
Assuming you are going to go with "benefits entitlement" (singular), which is excellent here IMO.

"vested" is the word you want for time-contingent rights to benefits.
