I would appreciate input from someone in the field. I know 'artisan' is used more and more often but wonder if something with 'craft' would sound more natural. One brand cited in this fragrance sector is...Artisan Perfumeur (!).

This accusation of gender issues has been discussed at length before, and I rather think it reflects PC gone mad.
While I totally agree that if it were expressed as 'made by a craftsman' there would be a clear gender issue, in compound words like 'craftsmanship' and 'craftsman-made', it is simply not possible to re-write these in PC-ese! By their very nature, these compound words do not emphasis the gender aspect of -man, but in general terms, those desirable qualities inherent in things that are made by crafts-people.
Almost certainly, I'd say, in a quality perfume house, there will be both men and women involved, and I really don't think any but the most perverse advocates of PC can object to the sort of terms I'm referring to.

: here we go again with artisan/artisanal. as you say we need to see the actual text since there are umpteen ways to express this. personally don't really know if craftsman-made fits in all that well with perfumes

Thanks, I agree! I think Asker's mention of '(hand-)crafted' is along the right lines, we might talk of a craftsman-perfumier — certainly not 'cottage industry' (just a soupçon of manure?) :-))

Thanks, Philippa! Hand-crafted won't really work for something like perfume, which you don't craft with your hands; and it doesn't necessarily convey quite the same notion of craftsmanship...

I go along with certain other suggestions that the clients concerned are really interested in the products (and not luxury per se)
Therefore, I prefer the three suggestions were the answers were least certain.

J'ignore qui a écrit ce texte et si c'est vraiment une plume française qui a pondu cette chose illisible, prétentieuse, dont aucune phrase n'a vraiment du sens et est bourrée de contre-sens.
Le tout en devient presque ésotérique.

Le LUXE ARTISANAL intéresse surtout les baby boomers et la génération X.
Savoir faire d’excellence lié à l’ancienneté, héritier du modèle de la manufacture (à l’opposé du taylorisme anglo-saxon), il permet de faire perdurer l’artisanat d’art (les mains de l’artisan incorporent symboliquement la mémoire, la narrativité et la légende dans les produits qu’il fabrique).
Intemporel : du fait de son ancienneté et de sa longévité.
Démesuré : du fait de ses origines religieuses et monarchiques.
Transcendantal : la culture et l’imaginaire donnent aux objets un sens et un pouvoir qui en font de objets de culte.
Narratif : les objets deviennent symboles et leur dimension immatérielle permet de les distinguer du premium.
Artistique : dès ses origines, le lien étroit à l’art donne un supplément d’âme au luxe, mais engendre une obligation de créativité.

Très artisanal : n’ayant pas connu le même tournant capitalistique que le luxe français au XXème siècle. Il est resté très familial.
