English term

g-second

English to French Tech/Engineering Medical: Pharmaceuticals Instruments - Centrifuge
Indicates run time remaining (timed run), g-seconds setting and time remaining to accumulate set g seconds (g-seconds run), or elapsed time (hold run)

Never came across that g-second! Have you?

See https://www.beckmancoulter.com/wsrportal/wsr/research-and-di... -> Specifications for similar context.

g usually designates gravity (g-force is consistently used in document for Force centrifuge) but g-seconds baffles me.

Thanks

g-secondes

The effectiveness of a centrifugal separation can be easily described as proportional to the product of the force exerted in multiples of gravity (g) and the residence time in seconds or g-seconds.

Note from asker:
Bonjour. C’est ce que j’ai mis par défaut, mais je n’ai pas trouvé de référence française utilisant cette notation "g-secondes"
Peer comment(s):

agree Tony M : Surely it ought to be written g.secondes, since it is 'multiplied by'; like N.m = newton-metres

Thank you Tony... Hmmm "newton-metres" :) I think a dash is appropriate if the unit is not abbreviated ('secondes')
