To me, what remains unclear here is who is making the statement, and who is driving what?
It could be the wearer's seeking to make a (fashion) statement about themselves ("I am rich enough to wear XYZ brand glasses") OR it could be the manufacturer seeking to make a statement about their brand — this is very often the sort of way 'statement' is used in this sort of fashion, design, etc. context and I think it is important to guard against any too-literal interpretation of it as 'déclaration', 'affirmation' etc.; in general 'statement' wouldn't be used in that sort of way in EN in a context like this.
Once we've figured out the 'statement' scenario, the 'driven' part should be easier to resolve...
