Buenos días,
Me gustaría saber cómo dar una explicación lingüística a la idea de que en inglés no se puede decir como en español "We are four at the party" (Somos 4 en la fiesta). La gramática prescriptiva dice que la forma correcta es "There are four of us at the party".
Recuerdo vagamente explicaciones cuando hice estudios de Filología inglesa del uso del partitivo pero no encuentro información al respecto.
