Portuguese term

armaduras

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering Energy / Power Generation
Grupos geradores - Consumíveis
Avaliação do estado de funcionamento das armaduras.
Armadura com nível de iluminação adequado.

Sei que armadura na construção civil é "reinforcement". Será que neste contexto usa-se o mesmo termo?
Obrigada!

neutral Jennifer Levey : Why would an armature (as per no. 4) need "nível de iluminação adequado"?

Impossível dizer, com o reduzido contexto fornecido, mas a iluminação pode ser temporária, para possibilitar a inspeção/manutenção. Mas sua resposta é uma variação do significado 1 de "armature", não? Logo, "armature" é uma tradução mais segura!

(protective) enclosure

Depending on the size of the generator, it might be an enclosure, cubicle, housing, etc.
The first source text sentence requires the protection devices fitted to the enclosure to be working properly (interlocks, etc.). The second sentence requires adequate lighting inside the enclosure, for maintenance purposes.

Further clarification:

Avaliação do estado de funcionamento das armaduras.
-->
Verification that the housing (or whatever) is fit for (operational) service. (e.g. that it's properly closed, not damaged, watertight (if it's supposed to be so), the interlocks are working properly, etc.

Armadura com nível de iluminação adequado.
-->
Housing (or whatever) with adequate lighting.

Note that 'armature' is never used in the field of electrical engineering in any sense other than that referred to in sense 4 of rhandler's reference. In electrical engineering, where sense 1 of rhandler's reference is intended, 'armoured' is sometimes used - as in 'armoured cables', for example - but that would not be appropriate in the present context.

obrigada, também pela sua ajuda!

neutral rhandler : And what about the "assessment of the operation condition of the enclosure"? "Enclosures" don't operate!
