I agree with both statements but answered assuming the poster was checking the meaning of the English and was perfectly capable of paraphrasing. This is the reason for the direct translation. Something like "落ち込みすると困るはずだ" would more impactful but would not be explanatory.

I agree with Port City. Too much rhetoric with direct translation may make it less impacting.

Although it is superficially a deterrent threat of some sort, I think 「がっかりするな/落ち込むな」should be good enough and probably more effective than including the accountability part.
