Nathalie Stewart Oct 21, 2017:
In a clinical research context, there are Regulatory teams (in charge of collecting regulatory compliance documents from the investigators involved in the trial) and Start-up teams (in charge of generally 'starting up' a clinical trial, i.e. obtaining authorizations from the local regulatory authorities, getting contracts signed with the investigators, etc.). So the "Lead" person would be sitting above these two teams and making sure that all the required documents are collected and that deadlines are met.

While "regulatory" is mostly referred to as "règlementaire" or "affaires règlementaires" in French, "start-up" (sadly) very often is referred to as "start-up," even though there could have been several perfectly good French terms to express that concept (démarrage, lancement, etc.).

Sadly also, the term "Lead" very often remains untranslated, but that does depend on each company's specific staffing nomenclature, so you may want to mention "responsable" just in case, or ask your client if possible.

> Lead/Responsable affaires règlementaires et start-up ?

Regulatory and Start-up Lead RSUL seems to mean "Regulatory and Start-up Lead" (googled it), but the next challenge is to figure out what this actually means, and how to translate it to French.
