German term

bENA

German to English Medical Medical: Health Care
Ina a rescue helicopter mission report:

"Notfallgeschehen/Anamnese:
Z.n. Sturz auf Skipiste, unbehelmt, kurz bewusstlos, Amnesie für Unfallhergang. bENA: ABCD stabil, kein Hinfweis auf rel. sensomot. Defizit, jedoch massive Lichtscheu, Nackensteifigkeit und oksipitale Kopfschemerzen mit Nausea. Weiterer Bodycheck: Sz re Hemithorax"

Any suggestions?

I think that's it.
uyuni Sep 4, 2022:
Merely a typo... forgotten/omitted Caps Lock...?
Cenk Başaran (asker) Sep 4, 2022:
Benachrichtigung Benachrichtigung looks reasonable, but I want to know why the author abbreviated it as "bENA". It looks like a four-word phrase, one adjective and three nouns (like, e.g., pDMS)
uyuni Sep 4, 2022:
Benachrichtigung/notification...? Perhaps this not the actual finding of the heli doctor but information about the patient's condition transmitted bei emergency personnel on site ahead of arrival of the helicopter transport mission...?

Proposed translations

German term (edited): bENA = Benachrichtigung ENA (Eilige Not-Aufnahme), (Environment/Exposure Not-Aufnahme)

Alert Urgent Emergency room - Alert Environment/Exposure Emergency room

not sure about E, it may be eilig (Urgent), or Exposure (E in ABCDE-Schema)

NA
could be Notaufnahme (Not-Aufnahme)

- bENA = Benachrichtigung ENA (Eilige Not-Aufnahme) = Alert Urgent Emergency room

- bENA = Benachrichtigung ENA (Environment/Exposure Not-Aufnahme) = Alert Environment/Exposure Emergency room

- ABCD stabil = Airway (Atemweg), Breathing (Beatmung), Circulation (Kreislauf), Disability (Defizit, neurologisches) stabil

- ABCDE-Schema ---> E = Environment/Exposure (Exploration)
is missing in bENA: ABCD stabil

Context

bENA: ABCD stabil, kein Hinfweis auf rel. sensomot. Defizit, jedoch massive Lichtscheu, Nackensteifigkeit und oksipitale Kopfschemerzen mit Nausea.

Note from asker:
Could be.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : This should be in the discussion box - it's a series of guesses. And "eilige Notaufnahme" is unlikely, as it's a tautology.

assuming that NF is Notaufnahme, "eilige Notaufnahme" is not a tautology, but a very urgent patient in a "catastrophic condition"
