Recommendations on Management of Condylar Dislocation

If a reduction is to be performed with the patient in a sitting position, the patient’s head should be stabilized. The attempt at a manual reduction of an acute dislocation may initially be made without the administration of any medications. If such attempts are unsuccessful, further attempts should be made under medication (muscle relaxants and/or analgesics) and, if required, under *analog sedation* or under general anesthesia.
