without making any guesses about who might have seniority or be a manager Explanation: We work in very different fields--I've never seen this before. *However* the thinking behind such a phrase does seem very Japanese. :-) In any case, the "target term" I offered should be taken as a suggestion for how to think about expressing this in English and not a definitive target term. The language should be adjusted to fit the document. For example, I can imagine a sentence along the lines of "If I were to think about the debate I've heard over this issue so far without making any guesses about who might have seniority or be a manager . . ." How you might translate it would be VERY context-dependent, but hopefully that suggestion will stimulate some ideas. |

do not think of certain people just because of their high status Explanation: 「忖度」は、上位者の意向を推し量るの意味で使われていると思います。提案では簡潔にするために high status を使いましたが、high positions in the hierarchy などでも良いでしょう。 |

without considering one's vertical relationship or job title Explanation: Your translation: don't care too much about other people's positions and suggest frank opinions. My comment: It is not true, whoever the decision maker to 忖度 would care about other's positions, however since he is aware of such decision making factor would possibly bring a biased outcome, he would dare to exclude it to make a fair judgment. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BF%96%E5%BA%A6 |

Don't worry about company hierarchy or job roles Explanation: I would keep it simple and natural to match the tone of the Japanese. "Don't worry about company hierarchy or job roles" "Try not to make assumptions based on seniority or position in the company." |
