Spanish term

tocado de calle o paseo

Spanish to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion accesorios

¿Alguna sugerencia?

¡Gracias!

Strolling was not a casual activity back then. When women went out during the day, they were usually quite dressed up.

casual headgear

It's a straw hat, similar to a boater. Can be worn as casual headgear.

I would leave the term "sancosmeiros" and by way of an explanation say something like a "traditional straw hat". You may, if you wish, say that "it is made of thin rye straw plaiting" (made in the parish of Santo Ourente).

As far as "tocado de calle o paseo" perhaps "streetwear"?

This document is pretty cool and worth reading, in my opinion (although it does not mention the "sancosmeiros").
