Change log

Feb 2, 2018 17:28: mchd changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): GILLES MEUNIER, Drmanu49, mchd

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

@ Asker the fragment
"Belles, raided and ransacked Southern silver, livestock and fowl; and torched Southern fields."
ONLY makes sense in the context of the Confederation and American Civil War

nothing to be done about it, except to reconsider the way you have sliced your ST.

It seems pretty obvious that only what comes AFTER "Grade_3_nigeria-china_v7b_combined" has to do with Africa, more precisely Nigeria, and sounds like a program for teaching in "Grade 3" ....
Tony M Feb 2, 2018:
@ Asker Well, your text appears to come from a document about the Southern States of the USA, so only you, with the whole of the text in front of you, can possibly tell why there should be this seemingly incongruous reference within it. Consider the possibility of a source text error?
If you give us more of the wider context, including explaining what your overall document is about, we might be able to answer your question better!
Marie Holger (asker) Feb 2, 2018:
belles / beautés ici, on parle de l'Afrique, je ne vois pas le rapport ave les USA ni les volailles ni le bétail
