Posmak i forma 'klasyczna' - szyk zdania jakby wzięty wprost z sentencji łacińskiej - kontrastuje z dosadną treścią, wyłażącą mądrość ludową.
Chciałbym, aby tłumaczenie tego powiedzenia zachowywało zarówno element 'klasycznej' formy jak i 'wulgarnej' treści, ale też, jeśli to możliwe, składało się, tak jak oryginał, z dwu wersów zakończonych krótkimi jak rozkaz słowami - świat i bat.
Chciałbym, aby tłumaczenie tego powiedzenia zachowywało zarówno element 'klasycznej' formy jak i 'wulgarnej' treści, ale też, jeśli to możliwe, składało się, tak jak oryginał, z dwu wersów zakończonych krótkimi jak rozkaz słowami - świat i bat.

Przy czym, to że ass ma dwa znaczenia nic nie szkodzi treści. Po zamianie przedimków określonych na nieokreślone:

Ani szyk zdania, ani dobór słów nie nadają jednak temu tłumaczeniu nic z sententia latina.
