Yiddish to English Social Sciences Cooking / Culinary Name of profession
I am hoping that someone here is as familiar with Polish as with Yiddish. In Poland, there was a profession of "koszernik" (with the root word "kosher," of course). We are having a discussion about its meaning, ranging from a kosher butcher = shochet to mohel to mashgiach. There are scant sources regarding its meaning. Your help with this question will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly, Alexander. This is a most interesting interpretation. The original question was posed on the Polish proz. In Polish, a kosher person would be koszerny (an adjective).
I did not alert you that it is in fact a profession, so mashgiakh would fit. The lack of reliable original sources is inexplicable.

Addddenda I mean the modern meaning of the word. May be the meaning was changing with time, and the original meaning was, e. g., a mashgiakh.

Kosher keeper I've researched this word a bit, and from the context I can conclude it is a person, eating glatt kosher. That is, the person on the other side, a kosher consumer.
