It's a document from California. I have kept, in what appears here above, the punctuation marks exactly as in the original. It's a Grant Deed about a case of R & T 11930, a bonafide gift where the grantor does not receive nothing in return.
Eventhough the first phrase has been already debated here and translated (a título oneroso or a cambio de contraprestación de valor, cuyo recibo y suficiencia se ratifican), my paragraph has a couple of variations plus the people involved and it is not very clear to me. I am having trouble putting it all together.

There’s nothing especially obscure about the source text, as quoted; and certainly no reason to suppose it might contain any errors, as Rebeca has suggested.
Analysing it, bit by bit:

3 brothers:
J Smith (single)
D Smith (married and with ‘separación de bienes’)
Robert Smith (married, with ‘sociedad conyugal’ – so his wife also benefits)
have collectively granted/given/sold* (something) to (someone else).
*and a dozen other possible options falling within the scope of the very generic ‘grant’.
Whilst it’s not clear (from the context we have here on the page) whether the ‘contraprestación was ‘monetary’ or other, any of the standard translations: ‘por una contraprestación determinada’, ‘a título oneroso”, etc. will be suitable.
I'd go for "por una contraprestación determinada".

Como leerás, dice que aunque la contraprestación pueda ser dineraria o tener un valor en dinero, el adjetivo "valuable" se refiere únicamente a que la contraprestación es real, en contraposición a "ilusoria", por ejemplo. Así que lo único que se me ocurre es que los grantors hagan ese bona fide gift porque recibieron algún tipo de favor que para ellos tenía un valor real.
En ese caso traduciría más bien "contraprestación de valor cierto" (y evitaría "económica" u "onerosa").
La otra posibilidad es que esa fórmula introductoria "For a valuable consideration...", sea un error del texto original. Porque a primera vista parece paradójico, desde luego.
Gracias por abrir esta discusión. Fíjate que así viene en el formato de la escritura. De ahí lo tomé al momento de agregar información contextual. Incluso te lo puedo mandar por inbox si gustas guardarlo como ejemplo y referencia.
La expresión for a (valuable) consideration significa precisamente que algo se hace a cambio de otra cosa (que se denomina la contraprestación), por lo que me sorprende que, como dices, el "grantor does not receive nothing in return"... ¿Estás plenamente seguro de eso?
Sería una contradicción del propio texto.
