French term

curare

French to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
This is from a medical report for a patient who suffered from cardiac arrest:

- curares maintenus sur avis du réanimateur de garde

I have found this term online as well as in my medical encyclopedias/dictionaries (it's curare in English as well), and I know that this is a type of muscle relaxant that can also go by the name of chondodendrom tonentosum. This report also uses the verb "curariser". I may be completely over-thinking this, but this term seems dated to me. Has anyone had to translate this term before, and if so, did you leave it as is?

Thanks in advance for your help!

muscle relaxant

"Par extension, un curare désigne un médicament aux propriétés curarisantes, utilisé en anesthésie pour provoquer un relâchement musculaire."
Note from asker:
Thank you! I put of these terms in my glossary. I chose blocking agent because the document was aimed at professionals in the field. If it was a more general audience, I would have used muscle relaxants.
