English term

alone

English to French Art/Literary Music Paroles d'une chanson
Bonjour,

Comment comprenez-vous "alone" dans l'extrait de chanson ci-dessous ?

Je comprends que "kinds", "them" et "they" reprennent les couleurs. Comprenez-vous comme moi ?

"AND I FIND EVERY LOVER HAS HIS OWN COLOUR AND YOU
YOU WERE ALL KINDS
GONNA KEEP THEM FOR MY PLEASURE, THEY'LL BE MY TREASURE ***ALONE NOW I
OWN***"

Merci et bonne journée ! :-)

Pour information, après "OWN" : "ALL YOUR KISSES IN A CANDY JAR BLACK BITTER SWEET THEY ARE ALL YOUR KISSES IN A CANDY JAR
SUGARBLUE WE'VE GONE TOO FAR"

mon trésor à moi seul

Very far from sure about my suggestion in FR, but I do feel pretty sure this is the correct interpretation of the EN; IMHO it needs to be parsed as if there were an imaginary comma or semi-colon after 'alone'.

The lyricist has rather twisted the words to meet their scansion and rhyming requirements!
