... sees the band playing son Cubano much as they would in Santiago De Cuba, all spicy rhythms and tight horns….

I cannot find what tight horns means. If there are any Cuban music aficionados to help me, it would be much appreciated.

it's not a term used just for Cuban music. I think it means the sound isn't airy, blowy. But jazz is not my thing.

on parle aussi souvent de la section cuivres
