silvester55 May 17, 2011:
Didier Fourcot May 17, 2011:
Stacking? If silverster's understanding is correct, ie number of cartons that can be loaded, I should rather expect "stacking" for the number of vertical layers but what about "quality"?
The clues 40ft, 20ft and 40ft hi do nevertheless suggest standard container dimensions
silvester55 May 17, 2011:
silvester55 May 17, 2011:

ormiston May 16, 2011:
Qty could be a misinterpreted abbreviation then
Tony M May 16, 2011:
Ah yes! And I wouldn't mind betting that this 'quality' is in fact some kind of typo for 'quantity', which then makes a whole lot more sense!

le lien "capacité de chargement" ... NOT!

FX Fraipont (X) May 16, 2011:

"stuffing of a container

found this on " word reference" , aug 2010 Hello dear people, can you help me? I'm translating a presentation for a new model of washing machine, and in the specifications it says:

drain pump - 2
Stuffing - 84 (40 ft)

I understand the first line but, what about the "stuffing" part??

Another one has - Stuffing Qty : 78(20ft) / 160(40ft) / 184(40ft-hi)
What the heck are they talking about?!

Edit: Ohhhhhhhhhh, I get it, it's talking about how many of these units can be loaded into standard shipping containers!! OK, I admit it, I'm a genius ..........etc etc ........
Tony M May 16, 2011:
As Ormiston says... ...extremely unlikely EN, suggests a non-native or translated source.

If this is a "technical feature", then what does it go with, and are any units expressed?
ormiston May 16, 2011:
the English is most implausible what's the rest of the text like?

agree Tony M : With the caveat that 'quality' might be an error for 'quantity', in which case it probably wouldn't be 'méthode'

Thanks Tony .THAT problem is for the asker to solve , a little more context would have been soooooooooooooooo helpful , as usual we are guessing !

neutral silvester55 : le link ne marche pas
1 hr
merci

neutral Tony M : I think Silvester has come up with a much more plausible solution; I can't conceive one would talk of 'stuffing' a washing-machine in any serious document, but the jargon term 'stuffing quantity' is quite a different matter.
