Spanish term

árbitro, arbitrador

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) court
Hi! i need help to understand what is the difference between "árbitro" and "abritrador" as both are translated to English as "arbitrator". But the phrase i have here is:

"otorgar a los árbitros facultades de arbitradores".

I agree with Lydia's definitions. In English legalese I think this translates as "to refer the matter (or dispute) to arbitration"

arbitrator at law; arbitrator in equity

The distinction commonly made is as follows:

árbitro = árbitro de derecho = arbitrator at law (must be lawyers);
arbitrador = árbitro arbitrador = arbitrator in equity (don't need be lawyers)
