Polish term
ciapaty
May offend
Polish to English
Other
Slang
offensive

Paki is offensive in the UK; there are no two ways about it. As offensive as wogs or darkies.
Racist speech is against the law - and quite rightly. The judge merely applied the law - and quite rightly.

The term 'paki' is used, in Britain, by racists as a term of abuse directed at anyone with brown skin. Unless you don't believe me - or don't care - you should stop using it.
'Paki' is a racist epithet for all South Asian people - Hindu and Sikh as well as Muslim. It is a word that if you use it to the face of a South Asian has the same force as calling a black person a 'nigger' or a Jewish person a 'Yid'. You may not understand the socio-cultural and racist context of the word in British society - please respect the opinion of those who do and consider its use bearing this in mind.
